Sweet Potato and Poo

Cally had diarrhea in the worst way Friday, if you remember on my blog.  I had suggested to the owner sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoes help firm up the poo naturally, and your baby thinks they are getting a treat!

I started small with my dog, little pieces of a peeled, washed sweet potato.  But as he grew, the piece size grew, the washings shrunk and before I knew it, he was picking his own potato out of the bag and loving it.

He gets one potato (or maybe two if he is super sweet) a week to keep him regular and good consistence.  Do not be concerned if there are bits of undigested sweet potato in their poo after eating a sweet potato.  That means it is doing its job!

Your pets poo tells you so much about the health of your friend if you pay attention.  All in the day of a dog walker!
