The same ones we use for Rice Krispy treats and s’mores. They are allergen free, GMO free, fat free, low calorie and most dogs love them! My own Rotty has all three sizes to choose from since we went through the whole allergy mess with him when he was two years old. He has the miniature size for his meals, which we call “lucky charms”. He has the regular size for his multiple daily treats, and then he has the JUMBO size for the extra special treat he carries around and eats leisurely. Read more...Sweet Potato and PooJanuary 16, 2019Cally had diarrhea in the worst way Friday, if you remember on my blog. I had suggested to the owner sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes help firm up the poo naturally, and your baby thinks they are getting a treat! I started small with my dog, little pieces of a peeled, washed sweet potato. But as he grew, the piece size grew, the washings shrunk and before I knew it, he was picking his own potato out of the bag and loving it. He gets one potato (or maybe two if he is super sweet) a week to keep him regular and good consistence. Do not be concerned if there are bits of undigested sweet potato in their poo after eating a sweet potato. That means it is doing its job! Read more...Chicken /Rice and PooJanuary 16, 2019Any time I hear anyone worrying about or see a dog vomiting or have diarrhea I automatically suggest switching them to a bland diet of chicken and rice. I usually prepare my own which is very economical. It usually takes 3-4 days of this diet to work whatever is in their system out, but you should see improvement within 12 hours of starting them on the diet. If not, seek the advice of a veterinarian. When I first started preparing the whole chicken, I used a whole chicken and boiled it, let it cool, and then spent a lot of time making sure all the bone and cartilage was removed. Then I got smarter and started using just thighs! So much easier to clean and they are every economical too. (side note: my husband and I love thighs for our meals as well!
