NATIONAL BELLY RUB DAY

Friday, February 22 was National Dog Walking Day! You would think I would have been overloaded and walking dogs left and right with that visual you have in your head of 10 dogs pulling in 10 different directions on the poor dog walker, but instead everyone took the day off and walked their own dogs, which is fantabulous by the way! Great bonding!

So, at the end of the day, I only had 6 walks when I usually average 12-14 per day. I took Monday off, since it was my birthday! As you can well imagine, by the time Tuesday rolled around, it has been what seems like FOREVER since I have seen my babies,

so I am declaring February 27, 2019 National Belly Rub Day, because EVERY SINGLE DOG I visited and walked insisted, and I mean INSISTED, on a belly rub before and after their walk. I would almost go as far to say they missed me! If there is one thing I can say for sure about walking dogs as a profession, it is every day you are reminded to, “STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES”.

Dogs have a way of reminding us of how truly important the little things are in life and how quickly we can miss them if we do not take the time to stop and see them, or in their case, smell them! So, STOP! Take a minute… and smell the roses.

Sometimes it is not necessarily about the destination, but about the journey along the way and I walk a lot of journeys every day with some poo and a lot of happy tails!
